JULIE BREWSTER REFLEXOLOGY

Aromatherapy

I had a bit of a shock the other day when I realised that I qualified as an aromatherapist just a couple of months before the birth of my eldest niece and she’s 24 this year!!! ?

I can’t imagine my life without aromatherapy. I have a case crammed full of essential oils (arranged in alphabetical order of course – I do love a system! ?) and over the years I have made blends for myself to use in baths, shampoos, skin care creams and even household cleaning products. I am currently using a cleaning spray made from a recipe from Tisserand Aromatherapy which uses Tea Tree essential oil, known for its anti-microbial properties. I have included the recipe below and a link to more of their cleaning recipes with essential oils. Although I can’t quite give up my bleach, it feels good to also use some healthier cleaning products at home.

Tisserand Aromatherapy Anti-Microbial Spray

10 drops of Tea Tree essential oil

250mls white vinegar

250mls water

Pour the white vinegar and water into a spray bottle and add 10 drops of Tea Tree. Apply a few sprays to counter tops, bathroom sinks or tiled floors for a deep clean.

I also love to use essential oils in my reflexology and massage treatments, making up individual blends for clients at the beginning of their treatments based on how they are feeling and what health conditions they have or want to prioritise that day.  So, for someone who is experiencing aches and pains, I might use essential oils with anti-inflammatory and/or analgesic properties such as bergamot, ginger, lavender, marjoram or peppermint. For clients in need of relaxation, I might use an essential oil like frankincense, which is said to have both sedative properties and the ability to slow down and deepen the breath, or oils such as geranium or bergamot for their sedative and uplifting properties.

So, if you fancy an essential oil enhanced treatment, why not check out my website for the services I offer? I would love to welcome you into my treatment room.
